Is There Anything in My Home That Can Poision My Child?
January 3rd, 2014
In most cases, the answer to the above question is, “Yes!” Let’s face it. Young children put things in their mouths without even being aware of it. Many of these things have the potential to be highly toxic and poisionous. I have developed a list of things in your home that you want to keep contained and out of the reached of children.
HOUSELHOLD ITEMS
- Bleaches
- Liquid or Powder Detergents
- Comet or Tub Cleaners
- Rubbing Alcohol
- Nail Polish Remover
- Furniture Polish
HOUSE PLANTS
- Poinsettia
- Mistletoe (i.e. Mainly Christmas Season)
- Dieffenbachia
- Philodendron
- Rhubarb
- Laurel
- Rhododendron
- Azalea
- Cherry Boughs
Please do a throrough home check. Look for potentially hazardous items underneath your sinks, in the basement, or in the garage. Make sure that these items are out of reach of your children. It is better to be safe than to be sorry..
