Home Safety is No Joke – Act Before it’s Too Late

People often overlook home safety. Being a professional home inspector I see it every day when I inspect homes. It’s almost uncommon for me to find a working smoke detector for fire extinguisher. I try to go over the importance of home safety with all my home inspection clients but it seems to fall on deaf ears. At least here on my blog I feel my readers actually take what I say to heart.

So this time around…..Please go check your smoke detectors right now – If you can’t remember the last time you replaced the batteries – replace them right now. Yeah…like right now – right now. Don’t put it off and Don’t wait. Waiting often puts things off and the next thing you know another week or month has gone by.

Do you have a fire extinguisher on each floor? Are they active and easy to access in case of emergencies? If not you need one and these home safety problems need addressed..
